What is AVIP?
The Africa Virtual Investment Platform (AVIP) is a joint initiative of the African Union Commission (AUC) and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). It serves as a central hub for data and analysis on investment conditions and opportunities across the African continent. By bringing together reliable indicators, country insights, and analytical resources, AVIP empowers investors, policymakers, and national statistical agencies with the information they need to support informed decision-making, strengthen investment ecosystems, and drive sustainable economic growth.
Through collaboration with African governments, regional organisations, and international partners, the platform aims to improve the availability, quality, and accessibility of investment data.
Our approach
The development of AVIP follows a phased implementation approach that gradually expands the platform’s data coverage, functionality, and geographic scope. AVIP is structured around four mutually reinforcing pillars to enhance data, policies, and resource mobilisation and boost investment in Africa.
