UNGA: Financing Africa's Critical Minerals & Energy Infrastructure Investment

As Africa advances the energy transition, expands critical minerals production, and accelerates industrialisation, infrastructure will be the defining factor in unlocking long-term growth. Rail corridors, ports, power systems, water infrastructure, and industrial facilities are essential to strengthening supply chains, attracting investment, and creating greater value from the continent’s natural resources.

Objectives

Held on the margins of the 81st United Nations General Assembly, Invest Africa’s high-level forum will convene government leaders, development finance institutions, U.S. financiers, global investors, multilateral organisations, and private-sector stakeholders to explore how capital can be mobilised into Africa’s infrastructure and critical minerals ecosystem.

Through practical case studies and expert insights, the forum will examine what investors are looking for, the financing structures driving successful projects, and the partnerships needed to accelerate infrastructure development across Africa’s strategic growth sectors.
