Morocco

Morocco is a stable and diversified emerging economy that plays a strategic role as a gateway between Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. Over the past two decades, the country has pursued an ambitious reform agenda focused on macroeconomic stability, industrial diversification, infrastructure development, and international integration, supported by strong institutions, a predictable regulatory framework, and extensive trade agreements. In 2025, Morocco's economy recorded an estimated real GDP growth of 4.90%, while inflation remained low at 0.75%, reflecting continued macroeconomic stability and prudent monetary policy. With a population of 38.43 million, nominal GDP reached approximately USD 182.58 billion, reinforcing Morocco's position as one of the largest economies in North Africa. Despite this progress, the country continues to face human development and labor market challenges : the Human Development Index stands at 0.710 (2023), indicating steady but uneven social progress, while employment among individuals aged 15 and above stood at 43.94% in 2025, constrained by youth unemployment, skills mismatches, and a high concentration of jobs in informal and low-productivity activities.
